2004 ACA Camp Rules
1. General Purposes and Procedures
1.1. The Camp serves the programs of the Division and
thereafter provides members and their guests with
opportunities to engage in canoesport.
1.2. The Camp Director supervises all on campus
matters and approves all program such as courses,
races, events, group activities, etc. in writing based
upon requests made at least one month in advance.
1.3. Infractions of rules may result in suspension of
camp privileges by the Camp Director.
1.4. Users are not permitted to enter the grounds of
other camps.
1.5. From 11:00 PM until 8:00 AM, there shall be no loud
talking, singing, or unnecessary noise.
1.6. The Cable Gate on Seven Lakes Drive is to be kept
locked except as indicated by the Camp Director.
1.7. Hunting and the carrying of firearms, air guns, sling
shots, bows and arrows are prohibited.
1.8. Pets are not allowed in camp.
2. Use, Registration and Fees
2.1. ALL PERSONS USING THE CAMP DO SO AT
THEIR OWN RISK.
2.2. Any adult member in good standing may use the
camp subject to the camp rules and fees. Users shall
contribute to an orderly, safe and hygienic
environment in the camp.
2.3. Immediately upon arrival, everyone shall register
at the Camp entrance. Each day while staying in
camp everyone shall register at the Al Musial
Pavilion. Everyone who enters must pay Usage Fees
or have a Season Pass or one-week pass. Carry your
membership card and season pass, if you have one.
Fees should be placed in the envelopes provided,
and deposited in the box located at the Main Pavilion,
or as otherwise indicated by the Camp Director. Daily
Usage Fees apply May 1 through October 31.
3. Supervision of Minors and Guests
The Camp accepts no responsibility for supervision of
minors- individuals less than eighteen (18) years of age.
Minors must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all
times, who will be responsible for them. A guardian or
host shall be an adult member at least twenty-one (21)
years of age. Guardians may bring up to five (5) minors
to camp for a period of up to forty-eight (48) hours,
although the Camp Director may give permission to
extend these limits. A member may bring up to ten
guests, although the Camp Director may extend this
limit.

REVISED LAST YEAR TO REFLECT CHANGES IN
THE BATHING BEACH RULES OF THE NYS HEALTH
DEPARTMENT THAT APPLY TO TEMPORARY
RESIDENCE CAMPS SUCH AS OUR CAMP.
4. Swimming and Boating
4.1. Swimming is permitted from the main swim dock
only. The lifeguard must be obeyed. A burgee will be |
flown from the dock flagpole during supervised swim
periods. Fishing is not permitted at the main
swimming dock. *Two responsible adults who are
at least twenty-one (21) years old must supervise
swimmers in the absence of the lifeguard. One
supervising adult must remain on the swim dock.
A parent or guardian must supervise minors at all
times. Do not swim alone or after dark. Do not use
soap and shampoo at the waterfront. Dive only from
the end of the dock or from the float. Stay inside the
designated swim area. Walk; do not run. Use care in
crib and on steps. No use of inflatable waterfront
devices such as inflatable swimming aids, tubes, or
rafts, or of mask, fins, snorkel and water wings are
allowed.
4.2. All boats launched from Camp must have an ACA
insignia or the letters "ACA", (three inches high)
affixed to their exteriors. Each boat in camp must
display the membership number of the owner. Use
indelible black marker on the ACA sticker. There
must be one PFD in the boat for each person in the
boat. No gasoline engines are permitted. Boats may
be launched from any dock except the Main
Swimming area dock. All docks must be kept free of
boats, paddles, and personal property except when
launching or recovering boats. Boats or paddles
may not be placed anywhere on the Main Dock.
Boats are prohibited from the area within the swim
lines. Boats are not to be tied to or placed upon the
swimming float inside the extreme deep end of the
swim area. No wind surfing, boating after dark,
inflatable water craft such as tubes or rafts. Boats are
to be stored on assigned racks as designated by the
Camp Director.
5. Building and Grounds
5.1. Ground fires are prohibited. Sand or water must be
kept near approved fireplaces for extinguishing fires.
No shrubs or trees may be cut down for firewood.
Discard smoking materials only in metal containers
appropriate for the purpose, not on the ground or in
the water.
5.2. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings.
5.3. Animal and plant life is not to be disturbed.
5.4. No changes are to be made to buildings, paths,
roads, parking areas, docks, or facilities of any kind
without the permission of the Camp Director.
5.5. Park automobiles only in designated parking areas.
Boat trailers may not be stored in the camp parking
lots without permission of the Camp Director.
5.6. Overnight stays may be made only in assigned
cabins, tentfloors and camping areas. Ground
camping and tent camping are permitted only in
designated areas, on a limited basis, and by previous
reservation through the Rental Cabins Committee.
Mobile campers are permitted only with the advance
permission of the Camp Director. No overnight
sleeping is allowed in cars or vehicles, or in any of
the public facilities or rooms.
5.7. No dish washing in the latrines or lake. |
